Good deed ends in UKH – man seriously injured after picking up beer can

A good deed ended on Wednesday morning for a 70-year-old from the Perg district in Upper Austria in the hospital. The man wanted to pick up an empty beer can and dispose of it – and was run over by his own tractor.

Life can be unfair: A 70-year-old just wanted to help, now he is seriously injured in the accident hospital in Linz. On Wednesday morning he drove his tractor up a meadow path in St. Thomas am Blenstein. He saw an empty beer can in the grass. The Perger wanted to pick them up and dispose of them – that’s when the accident happened. Stuck under the tractor The man fell unconscious when he got out of the tractor. Then the vehicle started rolling and trapped the 70-year-old in the hip area. Seriously injured in the hospital It was only after some time that a 28-year-old, also from the Perg district, drove by and discovered the accident. He immediately got into the tractor and drove it forward in pieces in order to be able to free the seriously injured man. After first aid, the 70-year-old was flown to the accident hospital in Linz by rescue helicopter.
