ABC has just unveiled the first images of “The Good Lawyer”, the potential spin-off of “Good Doctor”, about a young lawyer suffering from OCD. Felicity Huffman (“Desperate Housewives”) will be cast in the legal series.

After several weeks of waiting, ABC has finally unveiled the first images of the potential spin-off of The Good Doctor, entitled The Good Lawyer.

Episode 16 of season 6 of the medical series will indeed serve as backdoor pilot and will thus introduce the characters of this derivative fiction, camped by Kennedy McMann, who became known to the general public for his role in Nancy Drew, and Felicity Huffman, alias Lynette Scavo in Desperate Housewives.

In the episode entitled “The Good Lawyer”, written by David Shore and Liz Friedman, the two showrunners of The Good Doctor, and directed by Ruben Fleischer, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) seeks legal representation and trusts a promising young lawyer, Joni DeGroot (McMann), who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The Good Lawyer is Felicity Huffman’s opportunity to regain a TV role after the college admissions scandal landed her 14 days in jail, a $30,000 fine and 250 hours of community service .

The actress will play Janet Stewart, a highly regarded attorney and firm partner who has represented Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) in several legal cases over the years.

It is for this reason that he turns to her to represent his protege. But when Shaun declares that he wants Joni to take charge of his case, Janet is forced to let the young woman take the reins of the case.

ABC has been looking to expand the universe of The Good Doctor for several years, as it has done previously with two other of its flagship drama series, Grey’s Anatomy (with Station 19) and The Rookie (with The Rookie: Feds). .
