“Good for your career”, Anthony Kavanagh weighs in on the “selfish” motivations of certain artists

In an interview on RTL for the show, We are remaking TV this Saturday, February 3, 2024, Anthony Kavanagh did not mince his words about what he thinks of certain artists participating in the Enfoirés show. We’ll explain!

While TF1 is preparing very soon to broadcast the new show of Bastards who are celebrating their 35th anniversary for which Patrick Bruel composed a new anthem, the troop is once again the target of attacks. After Catherine Lara’s cash revelations on the reasons for her departure as well as Laurent Ruquier’s attack last May on certain artists of the troupe, it is the turn of Anthony Kavanagh to give a clear opinion on certain participants of these concerts long-awaited charity events every year.

In fact, it is at the microphone of RTL for the show We’re doing TV again this Saturday February 3, 2024, that the comedian returned to the opportunistic behavior of certain artists participating in Les Enfoirés. While the hosts, Éric Dussart and Jade, question him about a joke made about this troop of volunteers, Anthony Kavanagh responds in a very straightforward manner without tongue in cheek. He explains “having met a lot of artist managers who say “you have to do Les Enfoirés, it’s good for your career” or “Yes, you got Les Enfoirés, we’re going to sell albums”. But it was, it was selfish actually“.

“It really disappointed me to hear that”

Comments on which the host responds by asking if this also concerns the artists themselves, to which the Canadian comedian responds in the affirmative: “Even some artists that I came across “Yes, I do Les Enfoirés, I have a show to sell”, so I often heard that where this joke comes from all those times I heard it“. However, he tempers his remarks by stating: “I know there are artists who really do it for the cause. I know it’s a real cause, but there it was, it really disappointed me to hear that, where people were doing it because there was an audience and because it was good for their image» before concluding ironically with a “I am a good person“.

Words which will surely not please the rest of the troupe as well as the producer and artistic director of Les Enfoirés who has already protested on several occasions in the face of the numerous criticisms that the troupe receives.
