Good news for Ferrari’s electric car

Ferrari or no Ferrari, no exception: no more thermal cars will be sold in Europe in 2035. Electrification is therefore essential and the Italian sports brand is currently developing its first 100% electric car. Surprise: it seems to be going pretty well!

Even though half of French people are not aware, the ban on the sale of thermal cars in Europe is fast approaching. No exceptions are planned, even for the most emblematic brands: Ferrari will therefore have to go electric in turn!

And it’s obviously going well

If until now we had very little information on the first model, Automotive News Europe informs us that the brand’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna, made some confessions during the announcements of the third quarter results.

“Ferrari’s first fully electric model project is going according to plan, but for some processes we are even ahead of schedule”, he actually declared. Before specifying: obviously, the development of the electronic part (capital, as you can imagine, in an electric car) “making progress faster than expected”. Not yet enough to change the presentation date, which remains scheduled for the end of 2025, but any good news is good news.

But where will Ferrari fail?

It is true that the situation is annoying. The brand’s results exceed all expectations and the shift towards electrification seems to be on the verge of being successful: the two plug-in hybrid models in the range, the 296 GTB and the SF90, are selling like hot cakes, and this new announcement only reinforces this impression.

A shame for this brand viscerally associated with its gasoline engines. And a situation that is all the more surprising given that general manufacturers, who one might imagine capable of managing this new direction much better, are currently tripping over themselves…
