For more than a year, the future of the brands of the Chinese group bringing together Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus was unclear to say the least. At issue is a legal dispute between the group and Nokia concerning several patents in mobile telephony. All this went as far as the end of activity for Oppo France and the dismissal of employees.

For the consumer, this also meant several brands disappearing from the market, and therefore fewer alternatives for Samsung and Apple. Very bad news, especially since the Oppo and Vivo smartphones were among the best on the market.

Nokia buries the hatchet

At the end of January 2024, things took a whole new turn. Oppo and Nokia have announced the signing of an agreement valid in France regarding the use of patents. Nothing is stopping Oppo from re-marketing its smartphones in the country.

What about the group’s other brands? We learn today in the columns of WinFuture that the Vivo brand was also able to sign an agreement with Nokia in Germany. The Vivo brand is much less known in Europe and France, but this remains very good news.

This means that the Vivo X100 Pro will indeed be able to be sold on the French market. This is the brand’s latest flagship with very attractive features: 2800 x 1260 pixel Oled screen, Dimensity 9300 chip or even 120 W wired charging.

We are now hoping for an official announcement from Vivo France. Almost a year ago, the Vivo X90 Pro convinced us.
