Aid for 10million low-income households
This allowance is aid paid in one go, for 2023, which concerns the 10 million poorest households. It was put in place to replace the general rebate on the pump, in force until the end of 2022, and applies to all types of vehicle, including motorized two-wheelers and cars without a license (bicycles and electric scooters are excluded).
Questioned on Friday by MoneyVox, the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) estimated that beyond 5 million fuel premium claimed, the objective could be met.
Ask the taxman
To be eligible, you must have a reference tax income of less than 14,700 euros in 2021, i.e. 1,314 euros net per month for a single person or 3,941 euros for a couple with two children. A modest couple who works and owns two vehicles can benefit from two grants, ie 200 euros.
To claim it, you must complete a form posted on the impots.gouv.fr website. To do this, you will need to provide your tax number and the license plate number of the vehicle being driven. You will then need to complete a sworn statement stating that you need your car to go to work.
