Good plan – 5G mobile plans for less than €20 not to be missed

The number of active users on 5G networks reached 6.2 million during the third quarter of 2022, or 6% of the total number of SIM cards in service, according to the latest Arcep Telecom Market Observatory. Figures still far from those of the 4G network, which counted 69.7 million active users during the third quarter of 2022, for 69.3 million active customers on 3G networks. Enough to push operators to make efforts to make their 5G packages more attractive.

Maybe you felt the urge to go to the dark side of the 5G force too. This is why we are offering you a small overview, operator by operator, of the 5G mobile plans currently available on the market. It should be noted that the offers low-cost are generally valid for new customers. The bill may be higher if you simply want to change your mobile plan while keeping the same operator. Some operators offer temporary promotions on their plan(s). They are then indicated in the table below.

Before you start, ask yourself the question of the usefulness of such a package. It all depends on your use and your phone. If you need lots of data, much faster speeds, low latency, watching videos in ultra high definition, then 5G is for you.

Last but not least, Arcep has produced a summary document that tracks the status of 5G deployments and their development in mainland France. It can be useful to know if your geographical area is well covered in 5G and by which operator.
