Google Assistant, Siri (Apple), Amazon Alexa, Bixby (Samsung), Celia (Huawei)… We compared the five smart smartphone assistants by asking them 50 different questions to test their skills.
We have organized the queries into several categories: activating smartphone features, research, organization, chained questions, mathematics, etc. The idea was to diversify the exercises to form a representative idea of the capacities of each assistant. The Battle of the Wizards
To spoil you (but not too much), we can reveal that Google Assistant was particularly effective overall. For its part, Siri does less well than we could have hoped for, while Bixby, as if nothing had happened, reserves a few surprises, without being transcendent. Amazon’s Alexa – the only assistant in this test to work through an application installed by us – is not perfect, but can seduce with a strong personality.
Finally, for Celia… There is work. Let us recall in passing that, in French, even the most sophisticated assistants are not yet as “smartthan in their first language (English, Korean or Chinese). There is not only translation work to be done, but also countless adjustments to adapt to a plethora of speech and elocution modes.
In other words, the performance of these assistants in French is not necessarily representative of what they are able to do in other languages.
