Google’s Chrome browser now offers a few new shopping functions, some of which can save money. New features can be found in the mobile version as well as in the desktop version, but are sometimes only offered in the USA.

Google Chrome with new shopping functions

Google did for its Chrome browser some features unlocked, where online shopping is clearly in the foreground. At least at the beginning, some of the useful features are reserved for American users. Google has not yet revealed whether and when these will also be offered in this country. But it’s still worth taking a look.

Ideally, you can Save money with Chrome, because the browser informs users about price reductions in open tabs. If something has changed in the price, Google shows both the new and the old price so that they cannot be overlooked. The feature should be available on Android this week, while iPhone owners will have to be patient for a few more weeks. The function is apparently not available on the desktop.

It looks different with Shopping carts out. In Windows and macOS, users will in future see a new tab called “Your carts” if they have filled a shopping cart in an online shop but have not yet placed the order (source: Google).

Even without Google Chrome, you can save one or two euros when shopping online:

Chrome browser on the desktop with Google Lens

The all-rounder Google Lens is mainly known through the Google camera app, but is also available via quick access in the Android version of Chrome. Google now wants to make Lens available on the desktop as well. In the Chrome browser, Lens can be called up via the context menu and so among other things help with shopping research.
