The Google Contacts Android app slightly changes its interface in update 4.26. The addition is subtle, but truly interesting for the user. Let’s see that.
Google has an application for absolutely everything that could be useful to you on a daily basis, or almost. A calculator, an office suite, a GPS navigation system, a payment system, a digital wallet, a calendar, a file manager… And among these apps, there is one that is on all Android smartphones and which is totally essential, although very discreet: Google Contacts. We may forget it, but a cell phone is also used to make calls and for that, you have to record people’s numbers somewhere.

The Contacts application, like the others, benefits from regular updates bringing new features. For example locate your loved ones from anywhere and at any time. Over time, it has become a very complete directory, keeping in mind the telephone number of course, but also lots of additional information. If you want to add themail address or l‘birthday, among other things, it is possible. The sheet even contains the numbers from other messaging apps as WhatsApp Or Telegram. This is where Google has made an interesting change.
Google contact sheets are enriched with a very useful box
Currently, the additional messaging applications are listed one after the other on the contact card, with the different associated options. For example for WhatsApp: “Message to”, “Voice call from” and “Video call from” followed by the number. Not very practical, especially when the person uses several apps of this type. As you can see in the screenshot below, everything has been grouped into a box titled Connected apps. Just press the arrow to expand the shortcuts.
It doesn’t seem like much, but this small change makes consulting a file more pleasant and clearer. To benefit from it, Google Contacts must be at least on the version 4.26. The deployment is progressive, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see anything even though you are on this version number.
