In Google Drive, you can edit Excel spreadsheets without the hassle of downloading and uploading them again. We show how you edit files in the cloud.
If you don’t have Office installed, you can conveniently edit your Excel files with Google Drive. Cloud storage associated with the free office suite Google Docs comes with every Google account by default.
Google Drive uses compatibility mode to edit Excel files in XLSX or the older XLS format. This allows you to edit most Excel files as usual. Problems with the display and references in certain formulas can only occur with complex Excel files.
If this happens, you can alternatively use the online version of Excel provided free of charge by Microsoft. You can easily edit simple tables yourself with Google’s cloud storage.
If you use Google Drive and Google Docs extensively, you can conveniently integrate the respective apps into Windows 10 and create new files directly with a mouse click in the context menu.
