A new Google application has just passed the milestone of 5 billion downloads on Android.

For the past few days, Google Duo has joined the very closed club of “5,000,000,000+”.

Google Duo posts 5 billion downloads

A few days ago, Gmail passed the 10 billion download mark on Android. The mail application then joined YouTube, Maps and Search. Today, it’s Google Duo that is talking about it, exceeding 5 billion downloads.

A notable performance for the application, even if it should be remembered again that Google Duo (like the applications mentioned above) is installed by default on Android smartphones. The application allows you to make phone calls of course, but also to make video calls, so perfect for maintaining the link with family and friends.

Recall that the Google Duo application was launched in 2016 and that the American giant had for a time considered merging the latter with its other messaging application, Meet . A project then baptized internally “Project Duet”, but which did not succeed.
