To avoid the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, social distancing measures have been put in place but are not always easy to apply. Google decided to help with augmented reality!

France is about to start phase 2 of the deconfinement by finding a little more freedom. However, it is always recommended to wear a protective mask, to practice barrier gestures but also to apply social distancing. However, it is not always easy to assess the famous recommended distance between each person. That is why Google thought of setting up a tool to help all smartphone holders Android. This Friday, the American technology services company presented a tool called "Sodar", available on phones Android starting this week. This tool uses augmented reality to show a radius of 2 meters around you on your screen. It is therefore much easier to assess the distances in order to comply with the recommendations of the health authorities against coronavirus.

"Sodar"don't stop there! This new application visually warns the user when another person enters their non-contagion space. The tool works on all smartphones Android and was developed by the project "Experiments with Google".

Technology has become an essential tool in the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus. From June 2, the government will also launch the application Stop Covid, available for download on all smartphones. Thanks to technology Bluetooth, Stop Covid will record information when a user remains within three feet of a person for more than 15 minutes. Indeed, this is the threshold determined by epidemiologists to consider that there is a real risk of contamination. If the user tests positive for coronavirus, all those who have been around for 15 days will be notified. If this tool has been controversial, the government has assured that anonymity will be preserved through the use of random identifiers. In addition, no data will be kept beyond two weeks. This system should cease at the end of the state of health emergency, extended until July 10, 2020.
