If you fly over the Taklamakan Desert in China in Google Maps, you will make a strange discovery in the satellite view of the map service. In the middle of nowhere there is a big black hole.
To see it you have to enter the following coordinates in Google Maps 38.714917646438, 79.85597984675323. And then activate the satellite view.
The “black hole” has also caught the attention of the internet community Reddit. There is already speculation about what this is all about. However, anyone who now thinks of a secret military facility censored on the aerial photos is wrong.
No secret military base
In fact, the black hole is probably a lake that lies between two mountains. This can be seen on Street View photos uploaded to Google Maps.
