The Google Pixel 7 Pro is the latest high-end smartphone from the American manufacturer. More advanced than ever, it puts photography in the spotlight as usual. For its part, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, launched earlier in the year, does not demerit and opposes fierce resistance, in particular on certain criteria which could tip the balance in its favor depending on the needs.
Serious arguments for Samsung
In terms of design, the choice depends on individual preferences. However, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra puts forward serious arguments such as its stylus, its repairability score or its software monitoring announced at 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security monitoring.
In the same way, the South Korean terminal sports an excellent Oled screen which stands out thanks to its very high brightness. The Pixel 7 Pro does not let itself be defeated, however, advancing a very good luminosity as well as a calibration with small onions or a very good level reflectance.
In terms of autonomy, it is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra that best goes the distance. With more than an hour of extra use and faster charging, it presents itself as a better solution for heavy users who need their smartphone throughout the day, although neither is really a leader of the category.
A more capable Pixel 7 Pro
In terms of performance, the Exynos 2200 chip is clearly no match for the freshly landed Tensor G2. When it was released, Samsung’s in-house chip failed to convince us because of its performance well below expectations. Google’s mobile, for its part, does not disappoint and seduces us thanks to its incredible performance in game. On the gaming side, there is clearly no comparison.
Same story on photography, Google’s great specialty, where its flagship smartphone manages to outclass its opponent on all modules. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, does honorably in night photography with its 108-megapixel, 12-megapixel and 10-megapixel modules. In any case, the two smartphones have made photography their workhorse.
In the end, it is the Google Pixel 7 Pro that wins, even if the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra could well appeal to mobile users fond of the stylus for whom video games are not a criterion and in search of the most mobile sustainable as possible.
