While its release may have seemed uncertain for a while, Google’s foldable smartphone is becoming more precise every day. Recently, its trade name Google Pixel NotePad was leaked. Now we think we know more about its selling price, a sign that the presentation could be approaching.

A high price, but lower than the competition

It was the 9To5Google site that was able to obtain an estimate of the selling price of the device thanks to their sources. For this project, Google would like to aim for a selling price around the $1,400 mark, or $500 more than the Google Pixel 6 Pro, the most expensive smartphone currently marketed by the firm. Above all, Google would place itself $500 below the recommended retail price of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the United States.

In France, the latter was launched at 1799 euros, which suggests a Google Pixel NotePad around 1400 euros. If the firm wishes to market it in France. We know that Google does not always invest enough in its production lines to distribute its devices all over the world. 9To5Google indicates on this point that there should be a delay between the launch in the United States and the launch in the rest of the world.

Launch at the end of the year

Also according to the site, Google would work to launch this smartphone before the end of 2022. It would take over the Google Tensor chip from the Google Pixel 6 and offer a design closer to the Oppo Find N that we took over recently. It would therefore have a wider and lower format than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold. The product should run on Android 12L which is currently in beta.

We hope to learn more in the coming weeks or months. Maybe at the next Google IO?
