Google: in the footsteps of Apple in terms of ecosystem?

If there is something that cannot be taken away from Apple, it is the efficiency of its ecosystem. Whether you have a Mac, an iPhone or an Apple Watch, each of these devices can work independently as well as give life to a synergy, as long as it integrates into the environment of the Apple brand. Once your various Apple products are associated with the same account, you can then start synchronizing your calls, your messages, or even enjoy very practical features such as Handoff, AirDrop and Sidecar.

Last year, we asked you the following question: can Google’s ecosystem compete with Apple’s? With the marketing of the Pixel Watch, Google’s return to the touchscreen tablet market, materialized by the arrival of the Pixel Tablet, and its entry into the folding smartphone sector with the Pixel Fold, the Pixel range has considerably gained in scale and maturity over the past year. And obviously, the Mountain View company now has some ideas in mind to offer gateways between its devices.

On Android, it will soon be possible to link all your devices together

The media Android Authority tells us, through Mishaal Rahman, that Google will soon allow you to link your different Android devices, as long as they are associated with the same account. During your incoming or outgoing calls, you will then be able to switch from your smartphone to your Pixel Watch, for example. The same goes for tethering, which could then greatly simplify setting up and using a personal hotspot on your devices.

For now, we unfortunately do not know when this new feature will be deployed. Although Google will obviously have to make more efforts to hope to develop an ecosystem as solid and sustainable as that of Apple, it is clear that the firm seems to be on the right track to develop the connections that exist between its many products. All this will nevertheless require patience, but also (and above all) a lot of perseverance…
