Google would bend under pressure and raise its prices

Last year, the Pixel 7 did not see its prices increase compared to the Pixel 6. A nice surprise in these times of inflation, which would be short-lived. Pixel 8 is rumored to be priced higher than last year.

At the Made by Google conference last October, we had a good surprise from Google: while smartphone prices were increasing among all manufacturers, this was not the case for the American giant. This year, everything would change: the Pixel 8 would be more expensive than the Pixel 7.

$50 more for the Pixel 8

It’s the leaker Yogesh Bar, a regular at 91Mobiles which reveals on Twitter that the Pixel 8 would be launched next October, which seems logical. That’s not all: the smartphone would be launched at a price of 649 dollars, or 699 dollars depending on the version.

A $50 increase over the Pixel 7, the latter having launched at $599 last year. It looks like Google is facing higher production costs, with component shortages to blame. At least the manufacturer will have been able to offer a year’s reprieve to its users. This would be equivalent to 588 euros according to the current price, but we can expect a Pixel 8 at 700 euros, the Pixel 7 being released at home at 650 euros.

What we know about the Pixel 8

According to leakerwe should be entitled to a 6.17-inch Oled screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. hardware, the Pixel 8 would be equipped with the Google Tensor G3, the latest SoC born from Google, coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. Everything would naturally be managed by Android 14, which will be released shortly before.
