After the surprise announcement of Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro on the side of smartphonesor even PixelWatch with regard to connected watchesthe Mountain View company took advantage of Google I/O 2022 to lift the veil on a project that was interesting to say the least, which aims to “break down language barriers”…

The Google I/O was undeniably the scene of many announcements around new technologies from Google. Among them, we discovered a concept of connected glasses that could revolutionize the way we communicate with the world around us.

When Google wants to revolutionize communication

The Mountain View company definitely seems to enjoy mixing glasses and new technologies. Years after the semi-failure of Google Glass, the American giant has just presented a brand new augmented reality frame. However, this time, the concept presented by the company is intended to be somewhat different.

Through a presentation video, Google unveils its new augmented reality glasses project. Its function is clear: to allow two interlocutors who do not speak the same language, including deaf or hard of hearing people, to exchange in real time via Google Translate. Thanks to the technologies embedded in its lenses, these glasses are able to translate a language, then display the transcription directly in the lenses, like subtitles.

These glasses therefore aspire to break down communication barriers by bringing transcription and translation directly into your field of vision. And this without having to make the slightest effort. This is a strong concept, which could well prove revolutionary if it leads to a finished product as ambitious as it is on paper. We hope to quickly obtain new information about this prototype which definitely does not leave anyone indifferent!
