Season 1 of “Gossip Girl”, the reboot event of the eponymous cult series, ends tonight on Warner TV. But a season 2 is already assured, and the showrunner Joshua Safran has started to teaser what awaits us in the sequel.
Broadcast since November 23 in France, the first season of Gossip Girl, the reboot of the cult series that launched the careers of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, or Penn Badgley (You), ends tonight on Warner TV with the broadcast of the last two episodes.
But do not panic since a second season has already been ordered by the American platform HBO Max, and will start shooting during the month of January.
A new salvo of episodes which will resume shortly after the events of the final, “Gossip Gone, Girl”, during which Julien (Jordan Alexander) ended up making a deal with Gossip Girl which could turn everything upside down.

He notably told Newsweek that Julien was going “to restart” Gossip Girl, that a “war” would quickly erupt between Julien and Monet (Savannah Lee Smith) who is fed up with being “sitting in the passenger seat” and seems determined to steal her crown from her friend, and that the relationship between Max (Thomas Doherty), Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind), and Aki (Evan Mock) would be further explored.

Finally, the reboot’s thinking head, who was also a screenwriter on the 2007 version, promises that season 2 will be “faster” and that it will get closer to what the original series was, after a start that took its time to set up the characters and their different dynamics.
“Season 2 is in the vein of the first version of Gossip Girl, and things had to fall into place to get there.”, Joshua Safran told Newsweek. “If you watch the original series, we didn’t do anything crazy until episode 16 or 17, when Serena van der Woodsen confesses to killing someone.
