Several factors come into play to explain the bursting of the bubble that has so far artificially increased the price of GPUs. The crash of the cryptocurrency market (and therefore the reduced interest in mining) and the decline of the post-pandemic PC market are particularly to be taken into account. We must also add to this the imminent arrival of new GPU models, both from NVIDIA and AMD. Demand for current models is therefore tending to decline.
NVIDIA and AMD want to sell their stocks
Despite the fall in prices observed in recent months, NVIDIA and AMD are still struggling to effectively dispose of their stocks, to the point of having suffered disappointing financial results in the second quarter for the GPU branch of their activity. In anticipation of the launch of their new cards, the two brands would thus have every interest in making the current models even more attractive.
