LONDON (Reuters) – England’s King Charles is doing well after undergoing a planned procedure to treat an enlarged prostate, a source in Buckingham said on Friday.

Charles III was operated on today at the London Clinic in west London, where his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton is recovering after an abdominal operation last week.

Buckingham Palace announced on January 17 that King Charles, aged 75, would receive a “corrective procedure” for an enlarged prostate, a benign disease common in men over 50.

The information was knowingly released to encourage men of the same age with the same symptoms to undergo medical examination.

The UK Public Health Service (NHS) said the number of visits to its webpage with advice on enlarged prostates had increased by 1,000% since the announcement.
