BRIEF // While cars classified as Crit’Air 3 were to be excluded from the Métropole du Grand Paris from July 2022, this ban will not take effect until early 2023.
Vehicles classified Crit’Air 3 were to be excluded from the streets of the Greater Paris Metropolis on July 1, 2022, within the perimeter of the A86, but they will finally have a period of respite. Thus, the next stage of the ZFE (Low Emission Zone) will not take place before the beginning of 2023, explains the Metropolis.
The Crit’Air 3 sticker corresponds to Euro 2 or 3 petrol cars (or from 1997 to 2005) and Euro 4 diesel cars (or from 2006 to 2010).
According to the Métropole du Grand Paris, this postponement is linked to the expectation of two requests made to the State: “To be recognized as a territory of experimentation for the implementation of a zero-interest loan (PTZ) in order to reduce the remainder to be paid by the most modest households [et] benefit from the implementation of automated penalty control (CSA)”. Indeed, verbalization in the event of non-compliance with these restrictions should soon be automated.
It remains to be seen whether the ban on diesel cars planned for 2024 in the EPZ and that of petrol cars for 2030 will also be delayed.
