In Fontaine, near Grenoble, college students were attacked and extorted by a gang in front of the entrance to their establishment last Thursday, at the Gérard-Philipe de Fontaine college. The attackers were hooded and armed with a hammer and tear gas canisters. They targeted the teenager who had a phone in his hand and a designer jacket.

The events occurred Thursday afternoon. Four teenagers are quietly chatting in front of the entrance gate of their college when five to six individuals, hooded and armed, attack them, for no apparent reason.

The Grenoble public prosecutor’s office opens an investigation

“There was a group of young people who came wearing hoods to attack a student. Except that they didn’t find him. So, they caught someone in front, at random… They hit him and gassed. Then took his jacket and his phone,” says Sofia, aged 14.

Everything happened very quickly and the attack was very violent. “It’s chilling,” says Charlotte, grandmother of a 4th grade student. “We are very afraid because if they now attack the school when it is only teenagers… It is not normal. We do not let our little girl go or come alone “We are behind all the time. Next year, my grandson will be in this college and it will be the same: they will not make any return trips alone. Today, that is no longer possible,” continues- She.

Traumatized, the schoolboy attacked has not yet returned to his establishment. An investigation was opened by the Grenoble public prosecutor’s office to try to find his attackers.
