Saturday evening, in a shooting with weapons of war linked to drug trafficking, a man was injured in a district of Grenoble. At least ten bullets were fired from a weapon of war, probably a Kalashnikov, around 6:30 p.m. in the Alma district, not far from the city center according to the Grenoble prosecutor’s office.

A man was shot and injured on Saturday evening in a shooting linked to drug trafficking in a district of Grenoble, the city’s prosecutor’s office announced on Sunday. “The man found with a gunshot wound to one foot is currently hospitalized” but his days are not in danger, explained Grenoble public prosecutor Eric Vaillant, confirming information from the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré.

“A turf war”

At least ten bullets were fired from a weapon of war, probably a Kalashnikov, around 6:30 p.m. in the Alma district, not far from the city center according to the same source. “This shooting is due to a turf war. The team which holds the deal point had just been ousted and sought to recover it yesterday evening,” according to the prosecution. The injured man is “unfavorably known to the justice system”, according to the same source. Later on Saturday evening, another shooting occurred in the same neighborhood, at the same point of sale, without causing any injuries.

Also on Saturday evening, a 27-year-old man was beaten in the Villeneuve district, in the south of Grenoble and had to be hospitalized. His 20-year-old sister was also hit and injured. The young man “has left the hospital and his life is not in danger,” said the prosecutor. A man was taken into custody in this case linked to a shooting that occurred in the summer, in connection with a fight for control of a deal point.
