"Grey's Anatomy" delighted its fans with another surprise guest after the appearance of Patrick Dempsey.

The hit series "Grey's Anatomy" (ABC), which started its 17th season in the USA, is giving its audience a new gift every week. After Patrick Dempsey (54) alias "McDreamy" paid a little visit to the series, another ex-star has now returned. Warning, spoilers!

The pivotal point of the new season is the Corona crisis. Meredith Gray, who has been played by Ellen Pompeo (51) since the first season in 2005, has contracted the coronavirus. When Meredith lost consciousness, she found herself on a picturesque beach and met very special people there. In mid-November, Patrick Dempsey alias Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd returned completely surprisingly. The popular series character was known to have died in the eleventh season. And another person from Meredith's past also appeared in her dream.

Encounter on the beach

In the fourth "Grey's Anatomy" episode entitled "You'll Never Walk Alone", T.R. Knight (47) aka George O'Malley. Meredith's colleague and friend died in a traffic accident in season five while trying to save a young woman. T.R. Knight left the series as the original star in 2009.

In the new episode, the dead George talks to Meredith on the beach about the fact that dying is different for everyone. Some might choose to hold on to life, others (like himself) not. "I was devastated when you died," Meredith told George. "It blew me away, only at some point did I feel better."

Both ABC and T.R. Knight posted photos of the Meredith George Reunion on Instagram. The actor wrote about the picture with Ellen Pompeo, with whom he is also a private friend: "George and Meredith are sure to love each other, but I don't think they can keep up with the love I feel for Ellen."
