A tourist from Belgium was skiing on the ski slope in Grindelwald on Saturday. At around 8:30 a.m. he was on a marked slope in the Männlichen ski area in the direction of Läger when he fell for reasons that were still unknown. According to the current findings of the Oberland Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office, there are no indications of third-party interference.
A piste rescuer was on site immediately after the accident. He gave the 16-year-old first aid and alerted the rescue workers. Rega took the casualty to the hospital. The Belgian finally succumbed to serious head injuries on Thursday that he sustained in the fall.
