GTA 5 on next-gen, towards a significant improvement?

Here is good news for Grand Theft Auto 5 players, at least for those who play it on PS5 and Xbox Series. Yes Rockstar Games has planned some exclusives such as the introduction of the Hao store, the next-gen machines also benefit from performance improvements and also graphics.

GTA 5 on next-gen, towards improved ray tracing?

A few days ago, the starred firm rolled out a new update, on all platforms, including the PS5 and Xbox Series.

In the program, some performance fixesand if the hidden data revealed a probable next-gen version planned on PC, it would seem that the developers are also working on improved ray tracing.

Although the latter is already present and available on consoles and PC, it is nevertheless incomplete. Some options are indeed missing, but it looks like that will soon be history.

On social networksone of the best-known leakers in the GTA world found some interesting information available via the latest patch. Among those, new files have appeared, one of which is named “Ray Traced Ambient Occlusion” and a second called “Ray Traced Reflection Occlusion“. From their names, we understand not without difficulty that ray tracing should therefore receive some improvements in the coming days.

Moreover, this also coincides with the recent discovery of the probable release of the next-gen version on PC. Perhaps the developers want to offer the latter including these new improvements, in addition to the upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

Anyway, we will have to wait a little longer because at the time of writing these lines, Rockstar Games has still not made a statement about the release of GTA 5 next-gen on PC.

A new DLC on the horizon?

Despite the formalization of the development of GTA 6, the studio does not seem in such a hurry with this long-awaited opus since, lately, one of the main actors of GTA 5 has stirred up trouble in the Rockstar community.

On social networks, the actor playing Michael, namely Ned Lukeposted a surprising video in which he ironically talks about his premature retirement following GTA 5. By his words, fans of the license then assumed that the studio was teasing and preparing a new DLC focused on Michael’s character.

This hypothesis is not really far-fetched since the last major update of the game offered a DLC, The Contract, featuring not only US rapper Dr Dre, but also Franklinone of the three main story heroes.
