  • GTA 6 videos leaked.
  • It is an early development version of the game.
  • Rockstar Games has issued a statement.
  • The hacker is apparently trying to blackmail the company.

For years, Rockstar Games has tried to keep GTA 6 a secret. This worked well for a long time, but now there is a real mega leak that should put deep worry lines on the faces of the publisher’s management.

A GTA Forums user named “teapotuberhacker” has posted 90 videos purporting to show a test build of the game, according to PC Gamer.

Some clips on YouTube probably show all of these game scenes together or at least part of them. The videos are gradually being removed from channels such as YouTube, but the Internet has not forgotten the leak.

Rockstar confirms the leak

Rockstar Games even confirmed the leak. This is a real rarity and leaves no doubt as to its authenticity.

Someone hacked into Rockstar’s network and downloaded confidential data, including an early version of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Rockstar Games writes that there should not be any impairments to the current online services and the development of GTA 6 should not be disturbed in the long term.

However, the studio was “extremely disappointed” that details of the next game were shared with fans in this way. But there will be an info update soon and when the game is ready, Rockstar Games will also present it properly.

Hacker is said to want to blackmail Rockstar

An end to the debacle is not yet in sight, because the hacker is said to want to blackmail Rockstar. Messages are circulating on Twitter, including a WhatsApp chat history, in which this is discussed.

So the hacker would want money from Rockstar. If he doesn’t get it or not enough, he might publish the source code of GTA 5, GTA 6, additional content or even the test build for GTA 6.

The FBI is already in the know, as the ride-hailing service Uber writes, which appears to have been attacked by the same hacker.

Vice City and Characters

The leaked material apparently shows Miami (“Vice City”) and a protagonist who robs a restaurant and has an accomplice. The robbery is reminiscent of a scene from the cult film Pulp Fiction. It’s obviously an early version. Much of what is shown is still incomplete or incorrect.

In view of the leaks, it should now be clear that GTA 6 takes place in Vice City and that a woman is also one of the playable characters. The first gameplay impressions also show that Rockstar should not fundamentally change the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto.

The consequences of this premature “unveiling”, also with regard to the release date, are not yet foreseeable. Previous forecasts point to a publication in 2024 at the earliest. Another insider thinks an official unveiling of GTA 6 at the end of 2022 is still possible.

We’ll tell you what the leak could mean for the release of GTA 6.
