Guadeloupe: a judo teacher indicted for sexual assault on minors


A judo teacher has been indicted and imprisoned for sexual assault on minors in Guadeloupe.

The man’s incarceration dates back to November 2021, but the information was only revealed on February 3 by local radio RCI.

The alleged facts would have occurred “between the years 2000 and 2020”, specified to AFP Patrick Desjardins, prosecutor of the Republic of Pointe-à-Pitre.

Five victims identified

He is a “known” judo teacher, having practiced “in a club in the town of Moule”, in the northeast of the island, detailed Patrick Desjardins.

The man, in his fifties, would have abused his victims “in his car, at his home or even directly during training at the club”, detailed RCI.

According to the Pointe-à-Pitre prosecution, five alleged victims have been identified.
