“OC California” star Adam Brody wanted to be a Marvel hero. However, his favored role went to fellow cast member Chris Pratt.

Adam Brody (43) would have liked to become part of the “Guardians of the Galaxy”, as he now reveals. The ‘OC, California’ star even auditioned for the role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord, which he famously didn’t get. Instead, she brought worldwide fame to his former “OC, California” colleague Chris Pratt (44). Brody said so on the Just For Variety podcast.

Chris Pratt is “bigger, stronger”

“I really wanted the role,” he explained on the podcast. However, he also admitted that Chris Pratt is “better” suited to the role of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” hero. “He’s bigger and stronger.” Not the only setback in Brody’s career.

Among other things, the actor auditioned for a supporting role in the critically panned 2003 film “Risk Love – Gigli” with Jennifer Lopez (54) and Ben Affleck (50). “I remember liking the script.” He still remembers one final scene with Affleck in particular: “It’s like he’s sitting on the beach, he’s bleeding to death and the sand just comes up and buries him … It was a beautiful image that you could see in the film at all have not used.” He also went empty-handed at the audition for the comedy “Dumm und Dummerer” (2003). But he didn’t care at all, said Brody. “I just wish I could have just been Lloyd Christmas,” he added, laughing.

With “OC, California” he had his breakthrough

Brody rose to fame 20 years ago for his role as Seth Cohen on the series OC, California. In the fourth season also worked with Chris Pratt. He was also seen in “Gilmore Girls” as well as in films such as “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and “In the Country of Women”. In his new Netflix film “River Wild” he plays the leading role alongside his wife Leighton Meester (37). The couple have been married since 2014 and have two children.
