A great honor for Guido Maria Kretschmer: On August 22, the designer will be presented with the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The designer and moderator (58) will receive the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on August 22 in the Düsseldorf State Chancellery from NRW Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (48, CDU). As reported by the “Bild” newspaperWüst, in addition to Kretschmer, will present eleven other citizens with the award for “their outstanding commitment to the common good and the country”.
The State Chancellery’s justification states that Kretschmer would use his popularity with a lot of heart and commitment for people in an extraordinarily difficult situation. The trained nurse has supported numerous foundations for many years, including the German Stroke Aid and DKMS LIFE. He is “a shining example” of how fame and success can be used for the benefit of those who urgently need support.
Not only celebrities receive the NRW Order of Merit
In addition to the “Shopping Queen” star, Susanne Veltins, managing director of the brewery of the same name, the ex-director of the Berlin International Film Festival, Dieter Kossick, and the artist brothers Christoph and Michael Winkelmann are also honored. The Order of Merit has been awarded since 1986 and is limited to 2,500 living awardees. In addition to celebrities, people who are not normally in the public eye are also recognized.
