Günther Jauch: Why the "quarantine flat share" was doomed to fail

Günther Jauch (63), Thomas Gottschalk (69) and Oliver Pocher (42) were able to maintain the "Quarantine-WG" for three issues. Then the RTL show, which ran from March 23 to March 25, was canceled due to poor ratings. Why did the format flop? Jauch seems to know the answer. In the "OMR" podcast, he now said: "The show doesn't need anyone at the time."

The interests of the audience are missed

In the eyes of the TV presenter, the "quarantine flat share" was an "in-between" that did not meet the demands of the viewers. While half of Germany wanted "exclusively hard facts on the subject", the other half was interested in pure entertainment. "This middle position," which the RTL format has taken, "really didn't interest anyone," said Jauch.

Over three million viewers have tuned in to the first episode. "Then it collapsed immediately." Jauch and his co-moderators had made the decision to stamp out the program early.
