Sonya Kraus has revealed the consequences of chemo on her hair. For her, hair loss is not a tragedy – it is an opportunity.

As moderator Sonya Kraus (48) recently her breast cancer via Instagram video has made it public, she has already announced that she does not want to let it destroy her happy nature. In a new video that the 48-year-old posted again on the social network, she once again impressively proves that. In the clip, which is almost two and a half minutes long, Kraus talks about the consequences of her chemotherapy and shows that her hair is currently due to a wig.

Again and again she was asked by strangers on the street or by friends how great her hair looked despite chemo. Now she reveals: “My own hair is down to 20 percent and looks pretty sad.” But she “doesn’t care at all,” she assures and pulls off the wig. “It’s getting really bare up here… but what the heck? Don’t let that get you down – it’s growing again!”

Not a tragedy, but an opportunity

For other people who are going through chemotherapy or generally have thin or falling hair, Kraus has an encouraging message: A wig “is an opportunity, it’s a good thing and I want to encourage you if you feel like making a change have. […] It’s really fun and I’ve embraced that.” In addition, since then, styling only takes 20 seconds instead of a full hour.

At the beginning of the year, Kraus announced that she had both breasts removed in September 2021 due to a highly aggressive tumor. She went public with her story to encourage other patients and to make people aware of the urgency of cancer screening.
