Even though it had a very big launch thanks to the Xbox Game Pass, we can’t say that Halo Infinite is now in a very favorable position, the fault of several delays in the content promised by 343 Industries. The title finally started its season 2 last May, and we thought that season 3 would arrive in a short time, but the latest roadmap published by the studio is enough to make the community pull a face.
An extended season 2
No season 3 in 2022, it’s official. 343 Industries says this third season won’t arrive until March 2023. Yes, it’s a long way.
Until then, a “Winter Update” will entertain players with the addition of two new maps, Detachment and Argyle, a new game mode and improvements to make the experience more enjoyable. We will also find the arrival of Forge mode (at least in beta) and online co-op to replay story missions together.
As for Season 3, which will begin on March 7 and run until June 27, 2023two additional maps will be added, new weapons and equipment, and a new Battle Pass.
An expected feature that will not see the light of day
No mention of local co-op? This is quite normal, since the studio indicates that it has been purely and simply canceled :
” In an effort to improve and expedite ongoing development, and to better respond to player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on split-screen co-op from the local campaign. »
No split-screen co-op for Halo Infinite so, which should disappoint a lot of people. Decidedly, between that and Battlefield 2042some big games services have a hard time getting by.
