The Spice Girls reunited for Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday: Mel B breaks the silence after rumors of clash

On April 20, Victoria Beckham celebrated her 50th birthday alongside her loved ones and her former Spice Girls acolytes. The legendary girl band of the 1990s met at the private club Oswald’s, in central London. But while the reunion between Posh, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell-Horner ignited social networks, suggesting the possibility that the group would reform, internally, tensions would have arisen between Mel B and Geri, said Ginger Spice. The first in fact accused the second of lying about her age. Then, at the birthday party of David Beckham’s wife, the two singers allegedly had an altercation, before distancing themselves.

A source told the publication: “Mel tried to work things out with Geri at the party, but it didn’t go as planned. She laughed about it, but Geri didn’t seem interested in what she had to say and walked away.” She adds : “When it came time to take the group photo, Geri stood as far away from Mel as possible. Geri wanted to be there to party and laugh with everyone, not to talk to Mel about what she said about him.” After the party, Mel B still seemed to have extended an olive branch by sharing the photo in question on Instagram. In the caption, she wrote: “What an incredible girl power weekend with all my girls, I have so much love and respect for you ALL #friendshipneverends.” Not sure the message got through.

The Spice Girls: an anticipated reunion that brings a smile

After taking the break together, the Spice Girls then sang the song about their 1997 hit, Stop. Images of this reunion were shared by David Beckham on social networks. But once again, Mel and Geri stood as far apart as possible. Victoria, for her part, said that being reunited with the group was the “best gift”. On Instagram, she posted the video recorded by her husband and in the caption she wrote: “Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me ! I love you so much ! #SpiceUpYourLife.”

The Spice Girls became known in 1996, thanks to their global hit Wannabe. The same year, they came out, 2 Become 1 Then Viva Forever in 1997. However, in 2000, the group broke up under the pretext that the members wanted to focus on their own solo careers. The Spice Girls reunited from 2007 to 2008 for the Return of the Spice Girls Tour, and again four years later for the London 2012 Olympic Games. In 2019, the group met again to begin a Spice World Tour, but Victoria Beckham did not join her friends.
