Hamid explains the choice of his song, “in connection with [son] job”

Welcomed to the Zazie team on Saturday February 10 during the first episode of season 13 of “The Voice”, Hamid moved people with his interpretation of “The Grandfather” by Slimane. The reason he chose this song is particularly touching.

Since Saturday February 10, The Voice is back on TF1. Viewers were able to discover the first talents who were able to convince the coaches from the first minutes of the show, including Gabriel Lobao, Alphonse, Hamid, Aprile and Manuela. To compete in this new edition, Hamid chose to perform on stage a song from a former winner of the show : “The grandfather” of Slimane. Despite the stage fright, his performance went straight to the heart of Zazie, who was the only one to turn around. As he confided to our colleagues at Tele-LeisureSunday February 11, this song also addresses a subject that is close to his heart. Nursing assistant in nursing homes, Hamid also chose this title for reasons linked to his personal history.

It was first of all a succession of bereavements that pushed Hamid to defend this title on stage. My grandfather died last year and I wanted to pay tribute to him. I also had a singing teacher called Mariowho died at the age of 82″, he explains to Tele-Leisure. It was the latter who encouraged his passion for singing. “He sometimes took me to sing in nursing homes. We bonded because he was like my grandfather, Hamid remembers. His choice was also motivated by what he does on a daily basis for elderly people: “Finally, This also has a link with my job since I am a nursing assistant in a nursing home. So this song really speaks to me and I didn’t hesitate for a single second when I had to choose one.”

“If I had to choose, I would have taken Zazie”

A choice that suited the young man perfectly. If Zazie was the only one to give him a chance, Hamid was not disappointed. My challenge was already to make it to the blind auditions and I didn’t think the coaches were going to turn around. […] As long as I had a coach, it was happiness. In addition, if I had to choose, I would have taken Zazie, he confides. If the stress caused him “little misses” noticed by his coach, Hamid intends to improve subsequently, which is already shaping up “very intense”.
