Very cute dogs and a cute love story: this is the program of “Puppy Love”, available for streaming on Amazon this week.
What if your dogs allowed you to find love? This is not the hook for a strange new dating application, but rather the starting pitch for a new romantic comedy which has just landed on Prime Video and which you are bound to fall for!

Inspired by BuzzFeed’s 2015 Puppyhood short film series, this new romantic comedy follows the cute adventures of a couple formed by their dogs. And yet things got off to a bad start: Nicole, a carefree party girl, and Max, suffering from social anxiety, had a disastrous first date.

But their dogs had time to become physically closer… and the consequences arrived a few weeks later. Little puppies are on the way! Despite their differences and their opposing characters, Nicole and Max will do everything to be responsible co-parents, until as the days go by, feelings arise between them.
And what could be a clearer title than Puppy Love for this new romcom? Written by Greg Glienna, Peter Stass, Kirsten Guenther, Dan Scheinkman and Richard Alan Reid and directed by Richard Alan Reid and Nick Fabiano, this film can count on two stars well-known to series fans.
On one side, we find Grant Gustin, the one who played The Flash on the small screen for 9 years after small roles in Glee and 90210. On the other side, we find Lucy Hale, who played Aria in Pretty Little Liars for 6 years before we saw her in the films Truth or Dare or Nightmare Island.
If Puppy Love is a romcom which plays with all the classic codes and offers a fairly conventional and predictable plot, the alchemy between Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin is great enough for the film to be effective and pleasant to watch, with Jane Seymour as a guest . And above all, we love the adorable dogs of the two protagonists and their little offspring!
