This Saturday evening, the French handball team will face Saudi Arabia for the second match of the World Cup. After a first victory in this group stage against Poland, there is no question for the players to think that they have already qualified for the second round. Especially since an important match awaits them on Monday against Slovenia.

After beating Poland in the opening match of the Handball World Cup, the Blues face Saudi Arabia this Saturday evening, before Slovenia on Monday. In search of a seventh world title, the French Olympic champions have undoubtedly done the hardest part in this first group stage by beating the Poles at home. But no question for Nikola Karabatic to think that they have already qualified for the second round.

The game against Saudi Arabia”a priori more affordable”

“We don’t say that to ourselves. We followed the friendly matches of Saudi Arabia, so we can think that it’s a tone below and that the match should a priori be more affordable. But we respect all the opponents”, explains the player.

“On the other hand, it will not be the same thing at all against Slovenia. They are very high level players who play with champions of very big clubs. For me, Slovenia and at least at the same level as Poland, even better, so no, we don’t say that at all.”

The France-Saudi Arabia match will be to follow this Saturday evening from 6 p.m.
