Lhe “Qatargate” is a mine of revelations. It shows those who still don’t know how foreign powers try to bribe politicians, sometimes successfully, to impose their interests. It reveals how much the European institutions, through laxity and naivety, are vulnerable to these sneaky attacks. He testifies that in the age of cyberattacks and strategies of influence on social networks, the most archaic means – in this case, suitcases full of banknotes – are still extremely effective.
Unlike many of us, the anti-democratic powers take Europe and its institutions seriously. They know the influence and the considerable power that the Parliament has acquired in the elaboration of European laws…
