“30 years in local politics and 12 years as mayor, at some point there is a longing for more free time,” explains Dolleschal to the “Krone”. But he is by no means in dispute: “You can also tell that the departure is harmonious by the fact that the party unanimously accepted the proposal for my successor,” he says. He will remain in office until the end of May in order to “enable an orderly handover”.
