Nuremberg lurks unbeaten

1. FC Nürnberg can’t get past a goalless draw against Hannover 96 – which hardly helps both teams. The “Club” remains undefeated despite the not very clear game.

1. FC Nürnberg has missed its fourth home win in a row in the 2nd Bundesliga. Later on, the Franks avoided their first defeat of the season in the 0-0 draw on Saturday evening against Hannover 96. The team of coach Robert Klauß remains the only undefeated second division team.

In a largely sobering game in front of 24,211 spectators, Nürnberg’s offensive player Nikola Dovedan flew off the pitch with a yellow-red in the 79th minute. After their sixth draw, the “Club” are now fourth in the table, Hannover are in twelfth place. The fans in the Nuremberg stadium were put to a tough test in the first half. They saw bad pass after bad pass of their team. The Lower Saxony were a little more determined in the forward gear, moved up better and were dominant in the air. Midfield newcomer Tom Trybull made an aggressive appearance on his second division debut for Hannover 96.

More than a double chance through Linton Maina and the former Nuremberg-based Sebastian Kerk (9th) did not jump out for 96 in the first half. The Franks had their best chance of scoring through Mats Möller Daehli (45th), who only hit the right post from a tight angle.

The now more committed “club” did not get any sparking ideas on the offensive. In the second half, however, the Nürnberger were clearly the better team and wanted to win. The video referee did not recognize an alleged counter goal by Tom Krauss (66.), who was substituted at half time, because Dovedan, who was later sent off the pitch, was offside.
