Insider Jacob Wolf revealed the affair on its website last night. CDA Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, French nugget who left Europe to join the LCS and Team Liquid at the last transfer window like other LEC players, will soon be back home, perhaps at G2. While waiting to learn more about its point of fall, the former Rogue player appears to be in trouble with the law.
The esports consulting agency Athlete Representation & Consulting (ARC), based in Hauts-de-Seine, would have filed a lawsuit like Hans Sama for breaking terms of his contract by signing to Team Liquid in 2021, not paying commissions that were due. According to sources familiar with the matter, the signing of the contract was negotiated by ARC, before being finalized by a competing agency, Proxy.
ARC founder Nathan Laprade explained:
We deeply regret this situation, which is unprecedented in the life of our agency, but we must confirm that we have a dispute with Steven regarding the conditions under which our collaboration ceased.
Having been unable to reach an amicable agreement with Steven, we were forced to bring the case before a civil court so that an independent third party could assess the situation. It’s nothing personal, and we think Steven agrees. As the case is ongoing, we do not intend to communicate further to preserve Steven’s or the ARC’s image.
If the collaboration between the agency and the player ended at the end of 2021, an end-of-contract commission was also not paid at the end of the year according to the terms. The case also tells us that the French player had touches with Cloud9 for signing a contract. In the end, Hans Sama’s interest in Team Liquid led Rogue to agree to lower the buyout by favoring this team.
