Hape Kerkeling returns with one of his cult roles. For a new series he plays the animator Edwin from “Club Las Piranjas”.

Hape Kerkeling (56) is back – with power. Yesterday, Monday, VOX made his stage comeback “An Evening with Hape Kerkeling” and his travel documentary series “Hape and the 7 Dwarf States” is currently on the same station. Now Kerkeling is also returning in a fictional role. As RTL announced in a press release, the entertainer is slipping back into the role of the tour guide Edwin Öttel from the 1995 TV film “Club Las Piranjas”.

On June 28, 1995, ARD ran “Club Las Piranjas”, a bitter satire on organized package tourism, with Hape Kerkeling and Angelika Milster (69) as the penetrating, good-humored tour guides Edwin and Biggi.

Reunion with Kerkeling, Milster and Winter

Now there is a reunion with the animators from hell. RTL promises a “Club Las Piranjas” series in four episodes. The miniseries should first run on the RTL + streaming service, and later on traditional television. In addition to Hape Kerkeling as Edwin and Angelika Milster, Judy Winter (77) will also play her role as club owner Dr. Renate Wenger reproduce.

And even more familiar faces could be there, as Kerkeling suggests: “I won’t reveal who else will be there. Just this much: It’ll be a blast!”.

The Piranjas series is directed by Sven Unterwaldt (56), home and yard director of Otto Waalkes (73), who shot “7 Dwarfs” among other things. Production is scheduled to begin at the beginning of 2022, and broadcasting is scheduled for the end of 2022.
