Happy birthday Renaud: this cover that moved the singer to tears

France 2 devotes, this Tuesday, May 10, its evening to Renaud. On the eve of singer’s 70th birthday and the exit of metichis new album of covers, many artists will follow one another on the stage of the Paris Dome to interpret alone, or with him, his greatest hits.

A few days ago, in an interview with our colleagues from Parisian, Renaud confided in this great evening and revealed that he was moved to tears by one of the performances. “I liked seeing Calogero perform Pierrot, Joyce Jonathan take over the little-known Cœur perdu, the children’s choir on Mistral Gagnant… When Zaz sang Petite conne, on a girl who died of an overdose, I poured my tear”, confided Renaud. The latter also explained why no rapper was on the guest list for this birthday party: “I’m sorry for them but I’m not a fan. Orelsan and Stromae, it’s well written, but musically, I don’t catch it. It leaves me cold. I’m too old”. Renaud also regretted Angela’s absenceon tour during the recording of this bonus for France 2: “I would have liked to do a duet with her”.

Happy birthday Renaud: which artists are participating in this evening?

For this exceptional evening, Renaud will have the pleasure of seeing all his friends perform his greatest hits on the stage of the Dôme de Paris. Among them, we will find Patrick Bruel, Axelle Red, Jean-Louis Aubert, Claire Keim, Renan Luce, Zaz, Bénabar, Vincent Delerm, Dave, Tryo, Raphaël, Élodie Frégé, Calogero, Gauvain Sers, Noé Preszow or Benoît Dorémus, an unknown artist but whose Renaud “listen to the album on repeat”. Jean-Paul Rouve, with whom he has been good friends for fifteen years, will also be there. An evening not to be missed for die-hard Renaud fans!
