It is worth remembering that rock legend Bruce Springsteen, alias “The Boss”, participates from time to time in film soundtracks; often brilliantly. Witness the superb song accompanying the film The Wrestler, his participation in the soundtrack of The Last Walk, or the fabulous song Streets of Philadelphia, composed for the film of the same name by Jonathan Demme. And for which he won an Oscar.
In a radio interview given to the BBC in 2016, Springsteen confirmed an old rumor: a song he had written especially for the Harry Potter film directed by Chris Columbus was dismissed. Title I’ll Stand By You Alwaysit was written at the very end of the 1990s, during the pre-production of Harry Potter.
“She was pretty good” explained Springsteen; “It was a song I wrote for my eldest son. It was a great ballad, quite different from what I can sing, but it was something that I think would have fit perfectly with the universe. D Besides, I would like one day that it be integrated into a film intended for children, because it was really a very pretty song”.
In fact, it appears that her song was discarded due to author JK Rowling’s contract and demands that no commercial songs of any kind be included in the franchise.
