  • Daniel Radcliffe will not appear in the Harry Potter series.
  • The former Harry Potter actor has ruled out a cameo and hasn’t been asked to do so yet.

Ever since HBO Max (now just “Max”) announced a “Harry Potter” series, fans of the Potterverse have been wondering if we’ll see the original cast in the series again. But the series will retell the story of Joanne K. Rowling’s books and it’s clear that Daniel Radcliffe can’t step back into the role of an eleven-year-old.

Nevertheless, there is of course a chance that Radcliffe will play a guest role and, for example, play Harry’s father James Potter in the series. But the actor rules out a return to the Harry Potter franchise in an interview with Comicbook.com.

Daniel Radcliffe reveals in the interview that he has not yet been offered a cameo appearance, probably also so that the series can stand out from the films. Furthermore he says:

As far as I know, they try [die Serienverantwortlichen] to create a fresh start, and I am sure that the one who will [die Serie] wants to put his own stamp on it and probably doesn’t want to figure out how to get old Harry to appear in a cameo. So I’m in no way keen on that either. But of course I wish them all the luck in the world and I’m really looking forward to passing the torch. But I don’t think it takes me to physically pass them on.

So Radcliffe simply has little interest in appearing in the Max series either. In addition, the “Harry Potter” series is already under a bad star before the start, as author JK Rowling will be involved as an executive producer on the project.

This has led to many ex-fans calling for a boycott, as Rowling has upset many Potter fans with her controversial statements about sex and sex. Some stars of the “Harry Potter” films also distanced themselves from the author’s statements, which were perceived as transphobic, including Daniel Radcliffe.
