Harvey Weinstein: Corona test from former Hollywood mogul negative

Former film producer Harvey Weinstein is not sick with Covid-19. A corresponding test turned out negative.

The former film mogul Harvey Weinstein (68) was not infected with the corona virus, as US media unanimously report. According to a joint statement by the von Weinstein spokesman and a representative of the prison authorities, according to the Los Angeles Times, one could explain "that Mr. Weinstein's fever has dropped", but he is still being "closely monitored". In addition, one could "report that he currently has no Covid-19". Weinstein was isolated and tested on Tuesday morning, according to media reports.

Not in the hospital, still in prison

The 68-year-old still has "an abundance" of health problems that are said to be getting worse and for which he must be treated. He is currently being looked after by medical staff at the Wende Correctional Facility, a maximum security prison in New York State where Weinstein is being held.

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison in February 2020. A jury found him guilty of sexual assault and rape. He was also indicted on six other counts in California in October.
