Harvey Weinstein sentenced again. The American producer has just been sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison for rape and sexual assault, concerning acts allegedly committed in 2013 against a European model.
As reported by AFP via FranceTVInfo“Harvey Weinstein thus risks ending his days behind bars, because he is already serving a 23-year prison sentence after his conviction in New York in 2020 in another rape and sexual assault case, a conviction which he also did call“.
This is Harvey Weinstein’s second trial since 2017 and the outbreak of MeToo. Four women testified anonymously against him.
“The trial ended with a split verdict. Jurors found Harvey Weinstein guilty of all charges brought by the European model. On the other hand, they found him not guilty regarding those of a second woman, and did not formulate a verdict regarding the allegations made by the other two complainants.“.
Harvey Weinstein has appealed this conviction.
