A suspect was arrested by the gendarmes on Monday morning after several garbage fires have been observed in the city center of Yssingeaux in recent days. It started over the Easter weekend. In two weeks, between April 16 and 30, six container fires were reported to have been perpetrated in three different places, in particular along the rue du Puy.
Immediate appearance this Thursday
The investigations carried out by the gendarmes, who had set up, with special authorization from the prosecution, an image capture device on the public highway, made it possible to quickly confuse a 55-year-old man. Placed in police custody, he will be presented this Thursday afternoon in court, as part of an immediate appearance. The defendant will then have the possibility of requesting a postponement of the hearing in order to prepare his defence.
